The history
Everyone has realized, at the latest during the coronavirus pandemic, that air purification is an important issue. PROAIR GmbH Gerätebau has specialized in this field since 1993 and has found a way to offer its customers a highly effective air purifier: in the form of a water vacuum cleaner that works with patented lamella technology. Thanks to “L-Lamella,” it even captures dust particles and viruses that a normal water vacuum cleaner allows to pass through the air bubbles.
While vacuum cleaners usually work with filters that can become clogged or even moldy, PROAIR GmbH's flagship product, a device called “DELPHIN,” does not require any filters at all. The reason for this is “L-Lamella,” a special lamella developed by the company almost 20 years ago. However, the Allgäu-based medium-sized company has not rested on its laurels: DELPHIN has been continuously developed since then. It has been made smaller, more maneuverable, more durable, more robust, lighter, quieter, and more powerful.
Top-quality lightweight materials
All these improvements were also possible because the company has the right climate for innovation. Employees can even contribute ideas that seem far-fetched at first glance. Sales partners and dealers also regularly provide valuable input. This usually happens when people meet in person. To make the DELPHIN lighter and more durable, PROAIR GmbH worked closely with plastics suppliers to develop new lightweight components. “Almost all of our parts are manufactured in Germany. This enables us to guarantee that we receive and install only the very best quality,” emphasizes Managing Director Bernhard Grassinger.
Focus on innovation: manageability
When it comes to innovations, it is crucial for the company that the advantages they bring are never overshadowed by disadvantages elsewhere. “It is important to us to only develop innovations that really improve the product all round,” says Grassinger. Two aspects are always in focus: improvements in functionality and improvements in usability. In the latter area, a breakthrough has just been achieved that has led to a new patent. A twist technology makes it significantly easier to access the water tank—this is certainly a huge step forward and another unique selling point for the DELPHIN.
